“A robust business is built on a culture of…”

…positive agitation, not selective and comfortable abdication!”

A friend of mine reached out to me this weekend for a quote to use in another book he is writing. This is the quote I shared for use:

To add context to the quote - this quote emphasises that a strong and successful business thrives when it embraces constructive challenges and critical thinking rather than settling for comfort or avoiding accountability.

"Positive agitation" suggests fostering a culture where team members are encouraged to question, innovate, and push boundaries in a supportive way, leading to growth and improvement. Conversely, "selective and comfortable abdication" implies avoiding responsibility, sidestepping tough decisions, or settling for complacency, which can weaken a business.

In essence, the quote highlights the importance of an engaged, dynamic, and proactive organisational culture over one that prioritises ease or evasion of challenges.
